LESSONS: I teach 45- and 60-minute lessons, Monday-Friday on a weekly basis.  Lessons are taught in my home near Lake Stevens High School.

TUITION: From September to May, monthly tuition is due at the first lesson of each month.  Monthly tuition remains the same, whether there are 3, 4, or 5 lessons in the month. Lessons begin the first FULL week of school in the Lake Stevens School District.  Books and other supplies are purchased separately.  There is a 2-week break from lessons for the Christmas holiday season, and a one-week break in April.  During June, July, and August, tuition is charged by the lesson and is due at the first lesson of every month.

EXPECTATIONS: Students are expected to bring all music and assignment books to each lesson.  Practice time commitment will be on an individual basis, depending on age and level.  In order to benefit from lessons, beginning students are expected to practice at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.  This time commitment increases as the student progresses.  All students are strongly encouraged to perform in each recital, one in February and one in May.  Students are required to have a piano (preferably acoustic) to practice on at home.

CANCELLATIONS:  I attempt to make up lessons if given 24-hour notice, subject to availability during the week of the missed lesson.  One month’s notice is appreciated for discontinuation of lessons.

INTERVIEWS:  Prior to starting lessons we will schedule a free, no-obligation interview to discuss studio policies and determine if my teaching style is a good fit for you. Please use this form to inquire about scheduling an interview.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  I have a master’s degree in piano performance from the University of Washington, where I studied under Bela Siki.  I have more than 20 years of experience teaching piano.

As a member of the Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA) and Snohomish County Music Teachers Association (SCMTA), I attend monthly meetings to hone my teaching skills and glean from the expertise of my peers.  My membership gives my students opportunities to participate in competitions and festivals sponsored by these organizations.
