I grew up in Wisconsin, where I started taking piano lessons at the age of 7. I began teaching piano lessons while in high school and continued to do so throughout my undergraduate studies. I earned my Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I studied piano with Leo Stephens and Carroll Chilton.
I then moved to Seattle and earned my Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Washington, where I studied piano with Bela Siki. I continued teaching piano in Seattle for 10 years.
In 2002 I moved to Lake Stevens. For the past 19 years, I have enjoyed accompanying choirs and soloists in several school districts for concerts, festivals, and competitions. I continue teaching piano lessons for all ages and levels in my home near Lake Stevens High School.
I play piano for church services, weddings, funerals, and other events, and I recently had the pleasure of performing with four other piano teachers in a PianoTeams recital.
I am a member of the Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA). I am also a member and currently serve as the general treasurer for Snohomish County Music Teachers Association (SCMTA) where I attend monthly meetings to continue growing and learning as a piano teacher and performer.
